MEAN WELL's adaptor product line comprises two primary categories: wall-mounted and desktop models. In January 2024, the previous generation of wall-mounted products (GE/GEM/GS/GSM/SGA/SGAS series) with a power rating below 60W were designated as Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND). These outdated series will cease production from July 2024 onwards. Consequently, the wall-mounted offerings will solely transition to the NGE series, whereas the desktop models (GST/GSM/OWA series) will remain available for purchase.

Since their introduction, the next-generation wall-mounted NGE models (12/18/30/45/65/90) and the universal NGE100(U) model, featuring 2C2A charging interfaces, have garnered substantial market acclaim and secured tens of thousands of orders. Furthermore, on November 23, 2022, the European Union officially enacted legislation stipulating that, from December 28, 2024, all charging interfaces for consumer handheld electronic devices, including mobile phones, tablets, cameras, game consoles, and headphones, must adopt USB-C (Type C). In anticipation of this regulation, the demand for the NGE100(U) charger is projected to surge in the upcoming period.
