Indoor Lighting Control

Manual Lighting Control
Manually turn on and off your lights with a physical switch or touch panel

The most basic lighting control system consists of a physical switch, a KNX device with an LED driver, and a lamp. For a more specifics example, users can choose a KNX switch, matched with a KNX actuator, connect to a Constant Voltage (C.V.) LED driver, and switching control Constant Voltage (C.V.) driven lamps. Also, in a more simple way, users can use a KNX direct control LED driver to connect the KNX switch and the lamp directly.

MEAN WELL offers various KNX devices and a wide range of Constant Voltage (C.V.) and Constant Current (C.C) LED driver products for manual lighting control in indoor and outdoor applications designed to optimize users' experience.

Intelligent Lighting Control
Make your home more comfortable and energy efficient with our Intelligent lighting control system

The basic automatic lighting control system consists of sensors, KNX devices with LED drivers, and lamps. For instance, users can choose a KNX presence detector matched with a KNX actuator, connect to a Constant Voltage (C.V.) LED driver to automatically control a Constant Voltage (C.V.) driven panel light. Another earlier way is to connect the KNX Presence detector with the KNX direct control LED driver, then, the system can automatically control the panel light.

MEAN WELL KNX actuator can be connected to various sensors and detectors on the market and matched with various Constant Voltage (C.V.) and Constant Current (C.C) LED driver products to meet the needs of different application scenarios.
Dimming / Dimmer
Create different light scenes, increase visual comfort and optimize power consumption with dimming

A dimming lighting system consists of a physical dimmer, KNX device with LED driver, and lamp. For example, to compose a dimming lighting system, users can select a KNX touch panel, matched with a KNX dimming actuator, connect to a dimmable Constant Voltage (C.V.) LED driver to dim and control a Constant Voltage (C.V.) driven LED strip.

MEAN WELL KNX devices can be connected to a variety of control devices to perform dimming. It also can be connected with MEAN WELL's wide range of Constant Voltage (C.V.) and Constant Current (C.C) LED driver products, which enables the system to satisfy different application scenarios' needs.
DALI Lighting Control
A fundamental aspect of DALI is that it enables accurate, repeatable, standardized control of light-level outputs.

A KNX DALI lighting system consists of a physical dimmer, KNX-DALI gateway with DALI LED driver, and lamp. For example, users can choose a KNX touch panel, matched with to a KNX-DALI gateway; then, connect it to a DALI Constant Current (C.C) LED driver, switching or dimming control the Constant Current (C.C) driven LED spotlight.

MEAN WELL KNX to DALI gateway can be connected to a variety of KNX control devices to perform DALI lighting control. With a variety of DALI LED driver products, it can meet the needs of different application scenarios.
Heating System Control
The heating system is one part of the intelligent building control. A temperature sensor can be used to measure the temperature value of the office or a specific indoor space to check the indoor temperature condition. With these values, a logic controller can control the heating system and adjust the room temperature. To meet this kind application, MEAN WELL developed the KNX bus power supply KNX-20E and KNX-40E to provide KNX equipment power. For KNX logic switch actuator, KAA-8R can control the heating circuit and switch the heater on and off on the heat sink or in the underfloor heating system. Depending on the device model and parameter settings, the heating system can be controlled via switching parameters or pulse width adjustment(PWM). It is not only suitable for private residences, but also for commercial building usages, such as office buildings, schools, and hotels.

Blind System Control
The Blinder system is a major part of the intelligent building control. A light sensor can be used to measure the sunshine radiation value of the office or a specific indoor space to check the sunshine status of the active space. With these values, a logic switch controller can control the shading system. When the sunshine is strong, the corresponding blinder or curtain of the wall will be activated to provide shielding to ensure the comfort of the indoor environment and promote the energy efficiency of the building. To meet the application demand, MEAN WELL developed KNX bus power supply KNX-20E and KNX-40E to provide KNX equipment power, while KNX logic switch actuator has KNX-KAA-8R. KAA-8R can be applied with a light sensor and electrical blinder or curtains to control the blinder system.

Total Power Solution
With over 30 years of industrial power supply experience, MEAN WELL provides a variety of standard power supply. Among them, the ultra-slim step shape type, HDR series, is a compact and high efficient power supply. It is suitable to be installed in Building and Home distribution boxes to provide power for all kinds of applications, such as building safety, surveillance, video, audio etc. MEAN WELL launched 15W/30W/60W/100W/150W series and provides complete voltage models (5V/12V/15V/24V/48V). The system integrator can select the appropriate specification power supply according to application requirements, and further use them with MEAN WELL KNX products to achieve smart building.
