Outdoor Lighting




Signage and Exhibit LED Lighting
Traditional advertising light boxes typically utilize T8 fluorescent tubes, but these tubes and their associated ballasts lack waterproof capabilities. Consequently, they pose a higher risk of electric shock and have a shorter lifespan. In recent times, the brightness of LEDs has sufficiently surpassed that of traditional T8 tubes, prompting a gradual shift towards using LED waterproof light strings in advertising light boxes. These strings operate on DC 12V or 24V input.
Currently, MEAN WELL provides a maximum power output of 150W for indoor applications and 600W for outdoor waterproof applications. All of their products adhere to safety regulations and support full voltage input, making them suitable for any engineering project. Certain products, like the PWM/ODLV series, can be directly used with 0-10V dimmers without the need for an additional controller.


Spot Lighting
Traditional flood lighting systems commonly employ high-pressure sodium lamps, mercury vapor lamps, HID (High-Intensity Discharge) lamps, and MHL bulbs. However, these lighting sources are characterized by high energy consumption, the necessity for preheating, and a lifespan typically shorter than 15,000 hours. Fortunately, LED technology now offers lumen-per-watt ratios that can effortlessly replace these conventional lighting sources, delivering substantial energy savings and extended operational life. MEAN WELL provides comprehensive solutions for IP67 waterproof outdoor LED drivers. Our offerings span from the entry-level FDL-65 series (65W) and FDLC-80/100 series (80/100W), both backed by a 3-year warranty, to the economical ELG(C)-75/100/150/200/240/300 series (75/100/150/200/240/300W).
For high voltage inputs ranging from 180~528V AC, the HVG(C) series is well-suited for common 230V/347V or single-phase 380V AC voltages derived from three-phase power supplies. When integrated into industrial lighting fixtures, both the ELG(C) and HVG(C) series drivers offer low voltage outputs in CC + CV mode, which are compatible with COB (Chip on Board) or standard LEDs. Additionally, we provide high voltage outputs with a constant current design for enhanced product design flexibility, all covered by a 5-year warranty. Furthermore, MEAN WELL is proud to introduce the premium HLG(C) series, featuring CC + CV mode low voltage outputs and constant current high voltage outputs, backed by an extended 7-year warranty, ensuring the utmost quality for our valued customers.


Street Lighting
Traditional street lights primarily rely on high-pressure sodium lamps and mercury bulbs. In response to the transition towards LED lighting and energy conservation, MEAN WELL offers comprehensive LED Driver solutions specifically designed for LED street lights. Our portfolio includes the cost-effective ELG(C) series and the high-efficiency HLG(C) series, both of which are fully suited for street lighting applications. We also provide extensive safety test reports and robust warranties for our products. Integration with 0-10V or DALI dimming functionalities enables smart city lighting control. Furthermore, for designs demanding a smaller footprint and an integrated LED power base, MEAN WELL has developed the XLG series, which offers outputs ranging from 25/50/75/100/150/200/250W and boasts a more compact form factor compared to the existing ELG series.


LED Bulb Lighting
While traditional halogen bulbs, such as MR16 and AR111, require the use of stabilizers to convert AC 110V or 230V to AC 12V, failing to use such traditional stabilizers can lead to issues. However, the new LED MR16 and AR111 bulbs can be directly powered by devices like APV-08-12, APV-12-12, APV-16-12, or APV-25-12, which guarantee safety and provide a broad voltage input range of 90-264V AC.


Indoor/Outdoor Lighting
Currently, LED strips are widely utilized and renowned for their stability. They are employed in numerous indoor indirect lighting and outdoor decorative lighting applications, operating on DC 12V or 24V. MEAN WELL offers a diverse selection of LED drivers tailored to both indoor and outdoor lighting requirements. Specifically, we provide options up to 150W for indoor applications and 600W for outdoor waterproof use. All our products comply with safety regulations and support full voltage input, rendering them ideal for any engineering project. Notably, certain products in our range, such as the PWM/ODLV series, can be directly integrated with 0-10V dimmers without the necessity for an additional controller.


Downlight Lighting
Currently, traditional commercial downlights often utilize CDM ceramic composite metal lamps or HID gas bulbs. However, LED technology has seen significant advancements, with luminous efficiency now exceeding 150 lm/W, surpassing the performance of traditional bulbs. Furthermore, LED downlights consume less power and generate less radiant heat, indirectly lowering indoor temperatures and achieving energy savings. The primary suitable MEAN WELL products for these applications include the LCM/IDLC/ODLC/PLM/LPF/NPF series, which feature 0-10V or DALI dimming functions. All these products offer a stable current output and come with a warranty of up to 5 years.


Office Lighting
Traditionally, office lighting relied on T8/T5 fluorescent lamps, which were available in various lengths such as 2 feet or 4 feet and necessitated specific fixtures. Nowadays, LED lighting luminaires have become the standard for office lighting, with typical fixtures featuring 22 feet or 24 feet side-edge dimensions and offering direct-lit or reflection-lit panels. MEAN WELL provides a range of LED drivers specifically designed for these applications.
For linear built-in installations, we offer the LDC-35/55/80 series (35W/55W/80W). For standalone installations, we have the LCM/IDLC/LPF or NPF series, covering wattages from 25W to 120W, including 45W, 65W, 90W, and 120W options. These drivers accept a full range of input voltages, possess global safety approvals, and incorporate 0-10V or DALI dimming capabilities. Furthermore, the IDLC/ODLC and LCM series can provide auxiliary power for IoT smart timer dimming applications.


Linear Lighting
With the enhancement of LED brightness, the use of common 12V/24V LED light strips or applications driven directly by constant current mode has become increasingly diversified in product applications today. Beyond lighting or decorative lighting, due to the increase in LED brightness, it has gradually渗透 into the commercial lighting sector. When paired with linear fixtures, the entire lighting setup seamlessly integrates into the interior design, thereby elevating the overall quality of indoor lighting.
Furthermore, given the fixture's extremely slim and elongated design, it cannot utilize standard LED drivers. MEAN WELL has developed the linear LDC and SLD series, which emphasize a linear and slim design, with the SLD series boasting a mere 16.8mm in height and the LDC series measuring 22mm in height. These series are particularly suited for use with linear light fixtures and offer output wattages ranging from 35W to 80W.


Track/Rail Lighting
Track lighting is frequently utilized for spotlighting in commercial settings. The primary application involves mounting an AC voltage track to the ceiling, combined with fixtures that can be attached to the track to provide illumination. However, generally, these fixtures tend to be small due to the crucial consideration of weight. Additionally, the power box is integrated and mounted onto the track, necessitating a compact power supply. Currently, MEAN WELL offers a mini-sized LED driver model with a maximum output of 50W. This driver can be installed within the power box of the track lighting and comes with a 5-year warranty.


Intelligent Lighting(IOT)
One major market trend in LED industrial lighting is how to make LED luminaires intelligent. MEAN WELL is dedicated to designing innovative power supplies, which is why we have developed the LCM-25/40/60BLE LED driver with a Bluetooth mesh networking solution, allowing customers to control luminaires using Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 mesh protocol. All that is required a smartphone or tablet to set up the initial settings and controls. The Bluetooth low energy 4.0 mesh networking solution can be connected automatically as self-organizing with wireless mesh networking, this allows for the control of a large number of luminaires from a single point without the need for extra gateways. The Casambi Bluetooth app can even be connected to the cloud for data storage, and many CASAMBI Bluetooth control devices are ready for immediate use.

High Bay Lighting
The common application of bay lighting is used for the lighting application in warehouses or stadiums. Conventional bay lights are applied together with mercury bulbs or MHL multi-metal bulbs, so there are also concerns on power consumption and pre-heating before turn-on. To tackle such application in the market, MEAN WELL specifically develops circular shape with a patent for LED driver, HBG series.
Output wattage covers 60W/100W/160W/200W/240W and 300W. MEAN WELL becomes the leader in UFO bay lighting design and makes utilization of LED bay lighting much more convenient. In the meantime, we provided 0-10V or DALI dimming functions to allow customers to use smart lighting control for energy saving purpose. Moreover, other outdoor power supplies such as ELG(C)/HLG(C)/HVG(C) series also can be used in the design of bay light fixtures. MEAN WELL has comprehensive solutions for all kinds of application.


UV Curing and Purification
Traditional UV lamps use mercury lamps. Other than the concern of heat, UV also deteriorates products that are under exposure to it. Moreover, the range of wavelength becomes uneven in different bulb lengths and short product life is also a critical issue to traditional UV lamps. However, lumens of LED and energy are able to take the place of traditional UV lamps by providing lower radiated heat and more even wavelength in irradiation.
Thus, it raises product yield rate and delivers higher effectiveness to the end users. So far, the entire series of outdoor lighting from MEAN WELL can be utilized in UV LED, end users can select appropriate products according to the design of UV lighting modules. For example, the ELG(C) series with high-cost performance ratio or HVG(C) series to be powered up by industrial input voltage is suitable choices. 0-10V or DALI dimming can be tuned to be aligned with requirements of lighting fixtures.


Horticulture Lighting
Recently, horticulture lighting is one of the popular lighting applications. Not only can it replace conventional high-pressure sodium lamps, but it also can be used on the different color of LEDs with necessary tuning, so that required wavelengths for every stage of plants growth can be supplied. Horticulture lighting can be divided into top lighting and inter lighting. Top lighting supplies common plants basic light source for photosynthesis while inter lighting supplies extra light for the purpose of expediting fruit growth.
By now, MEAN WELL has accumulated a variety of field cases in horticulture lighting application. HVG(C) series can be implemented in such application with output wattage 65W/100W/150W/240W/320W/480W/650W and 1000W under operating at high voltage input. In addition, HLG(C) covers an output range from 40W/60W/80W/100W/120W/150W/185W/240W/320W/480W to 600W and able to run in common voltage, together with complete product series including 0-10V and DALI dimming function, which makes it a perfect fit for application, especially in horticulture lighting.


High Bay Lighting
LED fishing lighting represents a relatively novel market segment within product applications. Traditional MHL (Metal-Halide Lamp) technology is plagued by issues such as high power consumption and radiated heat, posing risks to fishermen who work for extended periods in close proximity to the lights. Furthermore, the high power consumption of conventional light sources places a significant burden on fuel consumption for power generators. MEAN WELL offers a comprehensive range of outdoor LED drivers tailored for fishing lights, including the HVG(C) series with high voltage input compatibility for use with 380V power generators, and the HLG(C) series designed for operation with 220V input voltage. Upon request, complete safety and waterproof reports are available.


Explosion Proof Lighting
Explosion-proof lights are typically utilized in hazardous locations where flammable vapors or gases may be present. To prevent sparks during the process of turning on the lamp, LEDs are now gradually being adopted in explosion-proof lamps. Due to their minimized size in product design, LEDs are far more suitable for the application of explosion-proof lamps compared to traditional light sources.
They can be integrated with MEAN WELL's products that are certified by UL8750 as Type HL, allowing for direct use in hazardous areas and simplifying the design of fixtures. Currently, MEAN WELL's ELG(C)/HLG(C)/HVG(C) series all comply with Type HL standards, making them ideally suited for applications involving explosion-proof lights.

LDC Series | The LDC series is an LED driver primarily for traditional office lighting and long shape luminaires. The dimension is the same as the conventional T8/T5 ballast sizes and thus can be replaced directly. The output voltage (Vf) range is 27V~56V with the low voltage double insulation (SELV) design, matching general LED strips or Zhaga specification strips. The output forward current can be adjusted via I adj function to achieve the range of 300 mA~ highest 2.1A. In addition, 0-10V/DALI and Push dim dimming functions are available, allowing users to achieve more energy-saving and high flexibility. In addition, this series provides NTC temperature compensation function, which can directly detect the condition of the lamp through the external thermistor method. SLD Series | The 12V/24V models are the constant voltage and current mode for any 12V/24V LED strip application in the market.
